The following dress code is an important part of dance + gymnastics training. The guidelines ensure students can safely and comfortably participate in class free of distractions. Download the dress code HERE.
Balance partners with Dance Fashions Warehouse in Sandy Springs for dancewear. Balance students save 15%. Families may also purchase items from the lobby or online at a site of their choice.
Gymnastics and Tumbling: Girls wear a leotard (no skirts attached) and bare feet. Hair must be off the neck and face in a ponytail or braid. Leggings and/or bike shorts are permitted. Shorts may not have buttons or zippers. No jeans, jewelry or watches. Stud earrings are acceptable. Boys: T-shirt, gym shorts (no belts) and bare feet. Tumbling and Jumps for Cheer students may wear shorts, t-shirts, and clean shoes.
Tumbling/Jazz Combo: Solid color leotard, black bottoms (i.e. leggings, jazz pants, bike shorts), tan/brown jazz shoes (slip on style) and hair pulled away from face into a ponytail or braid(s).
Toddlers: Comfortable play clothes or dance attire. Socks and bare feet are perfect for this class.
Pre-Ballet and Beginning Ballet: Girls wear a light pink or black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers (Preferred style = Drawstring Free). Hair is pulled away from the face in a neat bun, ponytail or braid(s); Pink skirts optional. No tutus or sequins. Boys wear black shorts or pants and a white t-shirt with black ballet shoes.
Ballet/Tap Combo Classes for ages 3 - 5: Same as Pre-Ballet with addition of black, Mary Jane style tap shoes.
Ballet/Gymnastics Combo Classes ages 3 - 5: Same as Pre-Ballet; tights should be convertible/transition style so they can be barefoot when the class transitions into the gym.
Ballet 1, 2, 3, and 4: Girls wear a light pink or black leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers (Preferred style = Drawstring Free). For these levels, hair MUST be in a neat bun securely fasted with pins. Ballet skirts optional. No tutus or sequins. Boys wear black shorts or black tights and a white t-shirt with black ballet shoes. Ballet 3 and 4 ladies may wear any color leotard so long as it is a solid color with no sequins.
Tap: Girls wear a light pink or black leotard, pink or skin toned tights, and black Mary Jane style tap shoes. Hair is pulled away from face in a neat bun, ponytail or braid(s); Pink skirts optional. No tutus. Boys wear black shorts or pants and a white t-shirt with black tap shoes.
Jazz and Lyrical: Girls wear a solid color leotard, black bottoms (i.e. leggings, jazz pants, bike shorts), tan/brown jazz shoes (slip on style) and hair pulled away from face into a ponytail or braid(s). Pink or black tights also acceptable. Boys wear a white T-shirt and black pants or shorts, and black jazz shoes.

Tuition Policies for 2024 - 2025 Classes
1. Classes meet from August 12 - May 17. By enrolling, you are securing your child's place in class for the full year. Students remain in the same class throughout the academic year unless a promotion is suggested by an instructor.
2. If you'd like to make a schedule change during the year, we'd be happy to accommodate so long as there is an open space within a class that is appropriate for your child's age and level.
3. If your child does not enjoy class, you may cancel your enrollment at any time by giving 30-days' notice to info@balanceatl.com..
4. Tuition is based on the number of mins/hours the student is in class per week. See Tuition for pricing.
5. Tuition is billed in 10, equal* monthly installments, which are drafted on the first the month from August - May to the AutoPay card on file. Tuition is not refundable or prorated for absences, holidays, or partial months. Tuition covers classes only, and there is an additional charge for the spring dance recital, costume fees, and items from within Balance's dress code. See Tuition for pricing.
6. You have the option to pay for the semester in full. This option includes a 3% savings and is only available through August 1, 2024, for the fall semester and January 1, 2025, for the spring semester. Email info@balanceatl.com for details. Payment by check, ACH, or credit card is accepted for this option. Refunds are not provided for semester payments made in full, even if enrollment is cancelled.
7. An annual, nonrefundable membership fee of $40 per student (max of $80 per family) is due during the initial enrollment. The membership fee is billed on each anniversary thereafter and covers gymnastics and studio equipment upgrades, insurance, wifi and other expenses not covered by tuition.
8. A late fee of $25 will be applied to accounts with a balance on the 5th of the month. If tuition is not paid in full by the 15th day of the month, the student will not be admitted to class.
Attendance/Make-Up Policy
We ask that parents notify Balance Dance + Gymnastics of an absence before the student’s class. Two make-up classes are allowed per semester. Dance class make-ups should be scheduled with the front desk or by emailing info@balanceatl.com. Gymnastics and tumbling make-up classes should be scheduled through the Sign Up Genius: Balance Families: Gymnastics/Tumbling Make-Ups.
We staff every class. There are no refunds or credits if your child misses a class.
Release of Liability
During the registration process, parents/guardians note that they understand that by participating in any dance and/or gymnastics class, rehearsal or performance, there is a possibility of physical injury. They agree to release and hold harmless Balance Dance + Gymnastics, including its teachers, dancers, staff members, and facilities from any cause of action, claims, or demands now and in the future.
